A heat pump is a smart cooling and heating system placed outside your home and linked to an indoor mini-split unit. It adjusts between warm and cool air based on the season, ensuring personalized comfort throughout your home all year.

How Does a Heat Pump Work? To produce heat, the outdoor pump absorbs heat from outside air and transfers it to the indoor unit via refrigerant. The refrigerant gets compressed, significantly raising its temperature at the indoor coil. A fan blows air over the heated coil, distributing warm air into the room. This process is cleaner and more eco-friendly than burning fossil fuels, resulting in zero emissions.

For air conditioning, the process is reversed: the indoor unit absorbs and transfers room heat to the outdoor compressor. The vapor condenses into a cold liquid, which cools and returns to the indoor unit, providing cool air as the fan blows across the cold coil.

Heat Pumps vs Conventional Systems Heat pumps and traditional furnaces or AC units both heat and cool homes, but differ significantly. Heat pumps use electricity, while traditional systems burn fossil fuels, emitting toxic fumes. Traditional systems are centralized with a single filtration point for the entire home, whereas heat pumps offer continuous air circulation, advanced filtration, and can be placed in multiple rooms.
